At Shree Gujarati Samaj Margao, we are more than just a community organization; we are a vibrant hub of cultural heritage, social connection, and community engagement. Established over 60 years ago, our mission is to preserve and celebrate the rich traditions of the Gujarati community while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all our members.

Since our founding in 1964, Shree Gujarati Samaj Margao has been a cornerstone of cultural and social activities in Margao. With a proud legacy spanning six decades, we have grown into a thriving community comprising over 250 families and 350+ members. Our commitment to cultural preservation and community service remains as strong today as it was at our inception.

Our organization is dedicated to organizing a diverse range of events and activities that cater to the interests and needs of our community. From vibrant Navratri celebrations that bring our cultural heritage to life, to engaging sporting events, competitions, and educational programs, we are constantly striving to create memorable experiences and foster a sense of unity among our members.
Journey Over Six Decades.
Established by founding members Including Shri Chaganlalbhai Doshy, Shri Shantilalbhai Gosalia, Shri Bipinbhal Shah, Shri Bapalalbhai Gosalia, Shri Himmatbhai Dave, and Shri Hargovindbhai Shah, Shri Mohanbhai Patel, the Samaj’s first circular was handwritten and circulated by Shri Ratilalbhai Shah.
The Founder term was lead by Shri Shantilalbhai Gosalia and Official registration followed on August 30, 1971.
Under the Samaj’s banner, Cultural programs and Navratri celebrations marked a beginning at Pajifond Margao.
Shri Bapalalbhai Gosalia presided the second term and had contributed to well being of society with being a part of Hospicio Blood Bank, Manovikas Education Trust, Margao Cricket Club etc..
Shri Harikrishna Patel spearheaded these efforts, raising funds by organizing sanskritik programmes that led to the acquisition of two shops in Vijay Co-op Society Pajifond, Margao.
Shri Praveenbhai Gosalia Initiated a small school for special children In support with the Lions Club Margao lead by Shri Vinodbhai Gosalia. This venture evolved gradually into a significant educational trust under Shri Vasantbhal Kanji’s presidency, with able support from Shri Jassubhai Mathrawala, Shri Narendra Bhai Ramani, and Shri Mukesh Bhai Saglani.
Shri Mukeshbhai Saglani, aided by Shri Gulab Bhai Hirani and Shri Paresh Bhai Ladhad, has expanded the trust’s school to over 215 special students. A new complex is currently under construction with support from the Government of Goa.
Under Shri Bharat Bhai Goda, the first All-Goa Navratri was organized at Fatorda grounds..
Shri Anil bhai Gosalia’s term saw substantial fundraising through Gujarati plays.
Shri Bharat bhai Saglani celebrated the Samaj’s 50th anniversary in 2014 at Quinta de Valadres with over 2,000 attendees.
Shri Chetan bhai Lakhani continued the rich tradition of Navratri and other activities.
Shri Balambhai Sangani led the Samaj during the pandemic, donating Rs One Lakh to the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
The ongoing term notably includes the amendment of the six-decade-old constitution with inclusive membership provisions and th diamond jubilee celebration.
