Establishment

Shri Gujarati Samaj Margao under the able Presidentship of Shri Pravinbhai Gosalia and his committee during their tenure took up the
challenge to run the school for Hearing Impaired children with equipment and furniture handed over by Lions Club of Margao to our samaj who had been running the school for Hearing Impaired children for short time under Shri Vinodbhai Gosalia as President of Lions Club of Margao for the benefit of the under privileged special children and then this noble work was continued by Shri Vasantbhai Canji as the President and his team.
In the year 1992 a Trust was formed with 31 Trustees who were all members of the Samaj and the school was handed over to this Trust for independent and smooth management.

Objective

The main objective of our school is rehabilitation, employability and independent living skills in keeping the ultimate goal of special education in mind. We are developing the work habits in our mentally challenged students and teaching them independent living skills which are mandatory to lead a dignified life and being a useful member of our society.

Represented India

Can you imagine the special children representing India at the world games? Well..our students have done it in China, Greece, South Korea, USA and recently in Berlin Germany at the special Olympics world summer games by winning gold, silver and bronze medals in skating, floor hockey, badminton, basketball, volleyball and table tennis. Our students have been competing in various sports at state, national and international events. The training is imparted by our competent and dedicated team of teachers.

Empowering Futures: Vocational Training for Special Children

The school lays great emphasis on vocational efficiency which is one of the most important areas in the field of special education. The students are given specific job training from the age of 18 onwards that suits the individual needs and capacities and enable the students to become financially self-sufficient thus contributing by being a valued member of the family and society at large. We have qualified physiotherapist and speech therapist to look after our children.
Physiotherapy is given to students who manifest spasticity, low muscle tone, gait disorders, poor posture and motor problems.

New Rehabilitation & Employment centre for the Disabled.

Our school paves a path for bright, strong future for this differently abled children. In order to create better environment and advanced facilities a new spacious school building is being constructed on the land given by the state government. The cost of our new school project is approx.. Rs 1300 lakhs.

Recognition & Facilities Provided.

Our school has been awarded the best Non-Government Organization award thrice by the state government in the year 2004,2010 and 2018 as well as second prize in Eco friendly environment in 2009.
The institution provides facilities in special education, speech and physiotherapy behavior modification, yoga and basic computer training to the students. We also have counselling and home bound training programme for the parents and periodical workshops and training for the staff.
